Vehicle description
This 1941 Packard Super Eight 160 convertible coupe has gone through a body-off restoration and is powered by a 356ci nine-bearing Straight-8 engine with a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This overdrive option provides two speeds in second gear and two speeds in third, resulting in a high-end top speed. The engine, transmission, rear axle, starter, generator, carburetor and fuel pump were all removed and professionally rebuilt. The body went through an extensive body repair and was repainted to a very high standard. Inside, the car has been reupholstered in Bill Hirschs's finest leather throughout. The trunk area has also been upholstered to the finest standards. The convertible top was provided and fitted by Putt Georgi. All chrome inside and outside has been replated. The car placed first at the Hershey AACA in 2019 and was a runner-up for the Joseph Parkin Award for the Best Prewar Packard. It has been driven in the summers and stored in a climate-controlled environment since the restoration. This Packard is from the late Thomas Mix automobile collection of Sudbury, MA.
